The new year is here and lots of people are detoxing their body but what about detoxing the mind and spirit. Here are a few ways to detox the mind and spirit and have a great attitude, feel at peace, and end mind chatter.

Spiritual Dance - In some spiritual groups there are special dances like the whirling dervishes, belly dancing, and other forms which help a person reach a peak of elation which is amazing. In fact some people feel that dancing in general is spiritual. It’s all about allowing our feelings of elation over flow, and thus allow the body to follow. Spiritual Meditation - To dial down the noise in our mind, to get rid of the mind chatter, and to calm monkey mind, there is nothing that works better than meditation. Meditation can be done any where, and at any time, but it’s best if a person has a regular routine every morning and evening devoting time to meditation. Putting in 30 minutes in the morning and evening creates calm and contentment, plus the ability to feel peaceful, no matter how much chaos there is around us. With QiGong our emotions become very stable, our personality centers around wisdom, thus meditation brings out all our good qualities. There are lots of great meditation teachers to learn from, and it’s best to learn from great teacher in person. There are classes in TM meditation and vipassana meditation, and some are completely free. Meditation goes back thousands of years in India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Japan, and other places in the world. Try it and see how amazing meditation can be.

Spiritual Yoga - Yoga is a process of healing by concentrating on different positions of the body and thus calming the mind, body, and spirit. Anytime we go inward, any time our mind moves away from the material world healing takes place. There was even a man who was paralyzed from the waist down. But over a years time with yoga he overcame his paralysis. And now he is 90 years old, and he’s very strong, has lots of willpower, and he is very calm. Yoga is a powerful process for healing the mind, body, and spirit.

Spiritual Chanting - Chanting has been done down through the ages by Buddhist Monks, Gregorian Monks, Hindus and Sikhs, and other sects of spiritual aspirants. And now with recordings of some of these chants going mainstream and becoming hits… there’s great interest in chanting. Chanting is very simple, it’s just taking 20 or 30 minutes daily to sit down and chant out load a piece of spiritual text, a spiritual song, or something else which has spiritual meaning. Chanting brings about peace, and a feeling of euphoria which is hard to describe. And like everything else in order to reap the benefits chanting daily is important.

Tai Chi - Tai Chi has been around for thousands of years. And it’s a great way to calm the nervous system, create focus, and allow peace to filter into the mind/body. Using concentration and slow focused movements, plus controlled breathing, Tai Chi helps is us to achieve a state of inner awareness, which brings about contentment and feelings of peace. Silently Saying the Name of God Over and Over - Silently saying a personal name of God over and over again thousands of times each day is powerful. Something like Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, or something else - something other than just the word God. The name of God is powerful. Saying the name of God thousands of times daily allows the mind to be free of constant thinking, free of mind chatter, and free of monkey mind. Saying the name of God is a powerful spiritual process. Some people even have great healings of their mind and body happen. And fear dissolves away while repeating the name of God. For the best results repeat the name of God whenever your mind is not being used for work or play. Most people say the name of God for at least 6 months for great results.
