This means about 44.5 million U.S. population have a mental health issue. NIMH further says the commonest issues include anxiety, bipolar disorder and depression. rnUnfortunately, only 57 percent of individuals receive treatment for their issues every year. Some states offer best mental health facilities; while some provide average mental health facilities to the patients. Here are the U.S. states with best mental health: Illinois Illinois is ranked as the 9th best state with satisfactory mental health facilities and a low number of patients with mental health issues. Most of the mental health patients in PA seek depression treatment. New York New York is rated as the 13th best state with low mental health issues. In the New York state, only 4 percent of the individuals have a serious mental health issue. Florida Florida is the 16th state with low mental health issues in the country. According to the Orlando Sentinel, about half of the total Florida population suffer from any type of mental health issues at some point in their lives.

Mental Health Association with Behavioral and Social Issues

Violence, property crimes and drug abuse increase when mental health is compromised. If you know someone who has a mental health issue, make sure they get treated. It is one of the best ways to prevent many issues (mental, behavioral and social).
  • According to an estimate, many mental health patients feel embarrassed to share their issues. Half of them even hide it from their close friends and family members. There is a stigma attached to it. If you know a patient, don’t make them feel this way.
  • Take mental health issues seriously and if there is someone in your family with a mental health problem, offer them your support.
  • Mentally challenged individuals need someone around them round the clock. To ensure this, give them a personal panic button for 24-hour assistance.
