A balanced diet, including simple breads, vegetables and fruits, can also provide necessary nutrition to stay fit and active. If a home cook even knows how to make zeera rice with some lentils, it is sufficient to pass a healthy day. It does not mean that one only needs to know how to make zeera rice. There is a wide range of dishes that they may try to bring a variety in their cooked food. An entire family cannot survive on the same rice dish and lentils every day. They have to consume varied types of foods in order to gain all the nutritional components. On the other hand, children usually nag when it comes to simple food, veggies and fruits. Still, it is essential that they get to eat healthy. Thus, one should concentrate on cooking simple yet attractive items that appeal kids too. For example, there are several interesting smoothie recipes available on food portals and in recipe books. Home cooks can choose a few smoothie recipes to satisfy the taste buds of kids. While one can prepare fruit smoothies of varied kinds, one can also go for vegetable smoothies. The recipes give creative ways to make these simple smoothies so these do not go boring for children. Smoothies are also a nice way to feed nutritional vegetables and fruits to kids. In fact, these can also be given to older people or those who are unwell. Simple home food is generally not harmful for even people with medical conditions, as the amount of any ingredient can be varied according to a person’s requirements. For instance, sugar can be substituted by healthy honey or jaggery in the dishes made for people with diabetes. Similarly, the amount of salt and spices can be reduced for those having high blood pressure or stomach problems. Home-cooked food is customizable to almost any extent, which is hardly possible when you eat outside in restaurants and hotels. It is always in people’s own favor that they practice a few simple cooking techniques and add some love to their food in order to lead a healthier lifestyle.
