Have you ever been presented with an opportunity that challenged you to think bigger about your life?

Has fear ever gotten in your way of doing something that you really wanted?

Forcing you out of your comfort zone can leave your stomach doing more flips than an Olympic gymnast.

If you’re unhappy in any area in your life, there’s a good chance that you’ve got an internal battle going on. Part of you wants to plow forward towards your dream
while the other part is putting on the brakes. Dr. Joe Vitale explains, “When your conscious mind thinks you want something but your subconscious mind thinks you don’t deserve it (or any other limiting belief), you will fail at getting what you want. Instead you will actually attract what your subconscious feels is right for you. In order to attract what you prefer, your conscious and subconscious have to be in agreement.”

Let me break it down for you further.

You experience a negative episode in your life. You create a meaning for this experience. Congratulations! You now have a fear or a negative belief. That belief
creates negative thoughts. These thoughts create negative feelings. These negative feelings create excuses. And these excuses create actions or a lack of action. See
how this can prevent you from living the life that you want?

So how can you face your fears and move past them?

1) Recognize what your fears and limiting beliefs are. You simply can’t change something you’re not aware of. Start by thinking about a goal you want to achieve and write down all the negative feelings and thoughts that come up for you.

2) Determine where and when these beliefs came into your life. Can you recall something that someone said to you at a young age? Do you remember an incident that was a defining moment in your life?

3) Release these fears and beliefs so they no longer have control over you. Write down the beliefs so they are out of your head and in plain view. Ask yourself if your negative beliefs are rational. Do they make sense? Is this how you really feel or are you just buying into what others are saying?

4) As you go through your daily life, become aware of your thoughts and your negative self-talk. Listen to what you’re saying. When you catch yourself thinking
something hurtful, stop and replace it with a new, supportive thought. For example, instead of thinking “I’m so stupid, I can’t do anything right”, create a positive, new thought like, “This is new to me and I’m doing my best to figure it all out.” Feel the difference?

5) When you feel paralyzed with fear, breathe into it and find your courage. Take small but deliberate steps. The best way to combat fear is to face it.

6) Surround yourself with supportive people. As hard as it may be, you must distance yourself from negative people. In order for you to reach the level of success that you desire, you must be around non judgmental, like-minded people who encourage and motivate you.

7) Let go of what other people think of you. You can’t control their thoughts or how they’ll react so stop living your life trying to please others. Realize that when people have a “problem” with you or your choices, they’re projecting their issues on to you. Just be who you are and do what feels right for you.

We all have fears to overcome. But the difference between successful people and those who struggle, is their ability to feel and acknowledge their fear and act in spite of it.

Are you ready?

Take a deep breath, put on your big girl pants and place one foot in front of the other. Step into your greatness. The world is waiting.
