Stop Living Your Life Based On Peeps Who Don’t Like You!

Some people live their whole life trying to appease people who currently don’t like them or could potentially not like them…

What do I mean?

Some people, maybe even you, live a less extravagant life just in case you make people think that you are too much…

Just in case people think that you are too selfish or too into yourself or too in their face or too _____________ (you tell me?!)

I have spoken to pastors who have limited themselves because they think they are in a goldfish bowl and all their parishioners are watching them to see that they do not get too rich…

Such a pity!

Some leaders don’t do the work they are called to do FULLY because some people might think they are too full of themselves!

Such a pity!

Why on earth do you care so much about people who are probably living lives they don’t like and so have far too much time on their hands watching you?

People who are VERY LIKELY NOT YOUR PEOPLE!

Because if they were your people, they would WANT YOU TO FLOURISH!

they would know that as you flourish, you take them higher with you!

Because they Would KNOW that you are committed to them!

Committed to serving them!

And so, of course, they would be FOR YOU, not against you!

So why live life to appease the few moany voices?

And it does not just apply to people…

You might live life expecting something bad to happen and so everything you do is to defend you against that ‘something’ instead of living life expecting good things to happen…

And when bad things happen, which sometimes they do, then your whole life becomes defined by that…

How does any of this help?

It doesn’t but humans still do it!

I remember when I had a whole lot of tenants to manage…

At one point, I had about 70 tenants or so and when I started, I lived life worried that one of them would set fire to one of the houses - That led to a few sleepless nights even though I had done everything I could to ensure the tenants and the houses would be safe…

But that limited my growth because subconsciously I am worried that the more tenants I have the more likely I am to have a fire…

And some of you reading this would think that that is true…

But is it?

And even if it is, how does it help to worry about it?

Apart from making me limit my potential for growth?

the other thing that used to happen with all them tenants was that I would 1 or 2 not paying the rent and that would CONSUME my mind…

I would forget completely about the 68 paying their rent and I would be dragged down and depressed by the TWO who did not pay…

My whole life became about them and how they were against me and how I had to deal with it and blah, blah, BLAH (hear the victim I used to be!)

Now, looking back, I can see that i had 68 paying - SIXTY EIGHT paying out of 70 - Wahey! How awesome!

And yet, then I felt pressured and horrid and so on…

And so I get it…

I have done it…

Living as though the bad thing is somehow bigger than the GREAT THINGS all around…

Making the vocal small thinking people more important to you than the many, many MORE supportive people who actually have your back…

And in some ways, this will be the difference between someone that survives in business / ministry and someone that does not…

Because if you want everyone to love you all the time and live your whole life to make that happen…

Then you will HAVE TO hide away your gifts and talents and just be a ‘norm’…

BEcause the only way you get everyone to love you is to be NO ONE!

The only way you get to feel completely safe all the time, is to stay in your comfort zone and never venture out…

So, yes, most people look at business and think that it is risky and it can be, if that is all you are focused on…

However, I choose now to focus on the great things…

On the BIG VISION!

On WHAT I AM CREATING!

Not what I could lose!

Man, that leads to such a small life!

SUCH A SMALL LIFE and I am done with living that!

I CHOOSE abundance…

I CHOOSE success…

I CHOOSE love…

And I invite you on this journey with me…

Because everything I want for myself, I want for you!

EVERYTHING!

But you gotta choose it!

Same as I am…

I put myself in environments where my BIG VISION became a done deal…
