What is the answer to stops kids over eating and being gluttonous? There is a relatively easy answer which involves kids being outside and engaged in physical activities. Parents this means you too have to be engaged in your kid’s health to help reduce this kid’s obesity issue. You have a responsibility to keep them healthy and educate them on how to lead a healthy lifestyle. It is important to understand that all things stem from the teachings these kids are observing in the home environment. Kids obesity has footings in the home environment so it is important as parents that you do your part and make the right changes in your child’s lifestyle. After all, you’re the boss, right? Make your kids eat healthy meals. Learn some new recipes that are healthy. It’s not too hard to throw a casserole together or get that grilled fired up with some lean meats and vegetables too. Try having some fruits and milk as snacks versus cookies and junk food. The Exercise Issue The real problem with kids obesity seems to stem from responsibility and just not taking the initiative to set the example with good exercise principles. If you can’t seem to find the time to exercise, eat well and teach your kids right from wrong then you’re doing your children a disservice. There’s a real problem in the world today if children would rather spend time watching television than hanging out with their dads. I know my dad took me out to all sorts of things and we worked side by side for many years. We spent our fair amount of time in front of the television set, but that was after a hard day of building a fence, digging post holes, working in the garden, lifting up iron and welding in the machine shop or just out fishing and hunting. My dad and I did a lot of things together and I thank him sincerely from the bottom of my heart for making me a hard worker who doesn’t thrive behind watching television and being a complete slouch. Second Action with kids obesity The world is getting to be a place where you can’t just rely on the school to get your kids through their classes and get a good dose of physical exercise. There’s too much time spent in front of the computer screen and learning the book stuff, without the extra activity hours in Physical Education or after-school activities (if your school even offers such bonuses). So, again it’s up to the parents to make the call and urge their children to play sports, try out for the football, soccer, track team, whatever… Exercise and sports have always been a big part of my life and I couldn’t imagine not having sports in my youth. Again not everyone is so inclined, but it should be encouraged and you can make the call.
