The Effective Resume – Check!
A good resume won’t get you a job – but a bad resume, can lose you one! Your resume should summarize all your relevant details on one page. Here are some of the best practices you should follow to make an effective resume.rnBasic formatting and typo checks –rnPlease ensure the CV is properly formatted and there are NO spelling errors! Using multiple columns, for example the personal details on the left hand side and the main information on the right.rnShort and Sweet –rnPeople spend only 10-30 seconds reading your resume. Focus on highlights; don’t put too many items or irrelevant things. For example, your coding experience is not relevant for a banking job!rnPut the key points up front! – rnIf your acads are good, you should put that first. If your work experience is relevant and strong; or you have noteable achievements, make sure these are noticeable and prominent!rnAvoid poor content – rnBetter to leave out hobbies or extracurricular, if they are not strong. Hobbies like ‘making friends, watching movies’ , or extracurricular like ‘Participated in fashion show’ add nothing to your CV and give a poor impression.rn2. Banking Certifications:
