Being successful with affirmations is just like being successful with anything else...the more you practice, the better you get.
So, what, and how, should you practice with affirmations in order to get the maximum benefit?
First, practice getting the wording right. Right as in “right for you”. Regardless of what others may say is a hard and fast rule, using the present tense of the verb is not always the correct way to go. Some people, like cartoonist Scott Adams of Dilbert fame, find that using the future verb tense makes the affirmation “more believable”. And, it stands to reason, that if the affirmation is more believable then it is going to be more effective.
So, experiment with “I will do/be/ have whatever blah, blah...” versus “I now do/be/have whatever blah, blah...” and see which works best to give you the positive feelings you seek ( courage, confidence, peace, joy, etc...) while at the same time evoking the imagery that best represents the successful accomplishment of your goal.
Second, practice seeing what time(s) of day feels best for doing your affirmations. First thing in the morning is almost always a great time for everyone, as the lowered brainwaves that are present just before becoming fully awake present an excellent environment for the planting of new affirmation seeds. But, anytime you can find to relax your muscles, especially the ones in your feet, hands, back and neck, can also be good.
Lastly, practice with writing the affirmation out versus speaking it out loud. If you enjoy writing it, try switching occassionally to your non-dominant hand, or using cursive if that's not your regular style. If you enjoy speaking it out loud, try lowering the tone of your voice or the speed at which you speak. You can also sing or chant the affirmation.
Here are a few other suggestions:
* Recite the affirmation in a foreign language if you are fluent in one, and especially if you grew up speaking one in a bi-lingual household.
* Speak the affirmation repeatedly to the picture or statue of a religious figure that holds great meaning for you.
* Speak the affirmation repeatedly to a trusted friend or your spouse until they feel convinced that you really mean it.
* Recite it while exercising (motivational speaker Anthony Robbins used to do his while running on the beach).
* See if you can work the affirmation into conversations.
* Write the affirmation on a card and put the card in your pocket. Then, from time to time, throughout the day, touch the card.
Well, that should be enough to get you started. Use your creativity to make the whole process fun and meaningful for you. This will virtually insure that the results you seek will show up in your life.

But if, on the contrary, you find you are living someone else’s life via trending, or depressed and distressed by

“Weight-Train” Your Brain
I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
