The France national handball team normally represents France during international matches. It is a strong team with a variety of medals for their past wins. Currently, the team is the defending champion for world championships, the Euro championship and also a champion in the Olympic championships. The team’s first records were attained in the 1990s when the team participated and won several events then. They were actually given the les Bronzes nickname when they participated and won a bronze medal in the summer Olympics in 1992. To match handball france in international tournaments is a difficult task for any international handball team. The France national handball team is managed by the French handball federation. They are a regular team in the Olympics for which they have two medals to date. The bronze medal in the 1992 summer Olympics was the first medal in summer Olympic events. The team won a gold medal 16 years later in the 2008 0lympics. The team also participates in the world champions for which they now have eight medals. They have earned gold medals in four championships. They first won a gold medal when they won the world championships in 1995. In 2001, they regained the championship title again after having lost it in the 1997 and 1999 championships. They lost the title in the 2003 championships but regained it later in 2009, one year after they had won the Olympics championship. The team emerged as a fierce competitor on the 2011 world championship and retained the championship title, emerging as a double defending champion. The French handball team lost the 1993 world championships by a small margin in the finals, winning a silver medal, the only silver medal they have from the world championships. They have been in the third positions in world championships for three times now, for which they earned bronze medals. In 1997,they got a bronze, having lost the championship they were holding. They again lost their 2001 championship in the 2003 championships acquiring the second bronze medal. The team retained the third position in the 2005 championships. The French team also participates in the European championship ligue handball (handball league). So far, they have two gold medals for the 2006 and 2010 championships, and one bronze medal for the 2008 championship. In the past few years, the French handball team has shown great attitude and motivation in the game. They are in the records as the reigning world champions and triple title holders for both the continental and the world handball championship being the first team to have such a record.
