Live, Professional Football Right before Your Eyes! rnYou can watch live, professional football up close and personal during the Summer Training Camp for the Dallas Cowboys! The camp takes place through August 17. Besides watching team practices, other highlights include a Kids Zone area, live performances by team mascot, ‘Rowdy’, and the ‘Cowboys on tour’ trucks, featuring team merchandise. A New Name & New Location rnThe popular Channel Islands Maritime Museum (formerly known as the Ventura County Maritime Museum), has moved into larger quarters and is now on the west side of the Harbor, 3900 Blue Fin Circle. You can enjoy the new location that includes a breathtaking panoramic view of Channel Islands Harbor. On current display is a special exhibit, ‘Four Centuries of Seascape Painting.’ The museum also features three galleries. Catch a Whale or Two this Summer! rnSummer Whale Watching Season is currently underway! It’s a great time to catch a Blue or Humpback Whale that migrate through the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary now through September. The journey encompasses the west end of Santa Cruz Island, home to one of the world’s largest sea caves, Painted Cave. Summer Outdoor Concerts Continue rnSummertime concerts continue through August at both Heritage Square in downtown Oxnard and at Channel Islands Harbor, ‘Concerts by the Sea’. The concerts are free at the Harbor and include a variety of music ranging from Jazz to Cajun to surf music. At Heritage Square, plaza seating is just $5 and lawn seating is free! In August, the lineup includes Salsa, Soul, R&B and Latin Jazz sounds. Enjoy!
