Support the Bloody Sunday Paratroopers

The OOA's aim is to Petition No.10 to register our profound anger for this apology and to urge the Prime Minister to retract the apology and to confirm that no soldier will face a criminal prosecution in the future regarding Bloody Sunday. The IRA have had their combatants pardoned and released from prison and we have yet to hear any apology on their behalf, therefore we believe that no apology should have been given on behalf of the Parachute Regiment. The further aim of the website is to create a powerful voice to persuade the Government into listening to alternative viewpoints and constructive criticisms from the British Forces (from our top level Commanders to our Soldiers, Sailors and Air Personnel on the ground) and the general public as a whole. This only makes for a more effective defence of our Country. It is our opinion that the Saville Enquiry has blatantly ignored soldiers’ testimony, even to the point where they have publicly called them “liars” and further we believe that the apology was only given to prevent further unrest in Northern Ireland. Lastly, should it be necessary to financially assist our Armed Forces personnel to employ the services of independent legal firms if they require it, we will then begin to raise funds in order that this is an option accessible to them. It is imperative that the Government should not be permitted to use individual serving/retired soldiers as scapegoats.
