In short, the Asia-washing syndrome is a condition in the face turn red dye when drinking alcohol. It has become popular because of the embarrassing attention you receive when you have it.

This condition is sometimes referred to as "Ladder Asia" or "Sunshine of Asia" or "Alcohol Flush Reaction." The reason for referring to Asians is that studies have concluded that approximately 50% of persons of East Asia (ie China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and Korea) have this condition. This can be somewhat misleading, because anyone can experience this reaction, regardless of their ethnicity. Basically, the disease weakens the ability of the patient to process the alcohol.

Why is this getting so much attention?

When people start to drink as a young adult, it is usually their first experience with social drinking. This usually means that friends gather and drink heavily. For most people taking their first drinks, they are looking for an escape, to relax, have a good time. The more you drink, the happier you get. Well, for some of these drinkers first time they have the color of Asia, are a bit more negotiating.

If you have colored Asia's syndrome, their tolerance to metabolize alcohol is absent. As a result, you can begin to develop symptoms of Asia downloading immediately after a drink or two. This usually means red blush to the face, shoulders and neck, swelling, spots, itching, headaches, dizziness, tachycardia, nausea and vomiting.

You may experience some of these symptoms, maybe more, maybe just the red flush to the face. Not all victims experience the same symptoms. Everyone will experience something different, depending on how severe your condition is.

First, you must realize after experiencing these symptoms, not as much fun as I thought it would be. In short, if you drink more, feel worse. No doubt. And believe me, not because you are drunk. Your body is not prepared to handle alcohol. Accept it.

So, is there anything we can do about it?

Unfortunately, there is no magic pill that will treat this condition. There is a lot of money for research to help the poor young Asians with their ability to drink more alcohol. In fact, this condition is actually helping society by reducing the number of alcoholics in the future. How ironic, right?

But seriously, there are some methods to prevent and treat the symptoms of flushing Asia. Some involve some prescription medicines, and other methods that offer advice on how to control. In short, you can still continue to drink despite having color of Asia. So do not give up.

On a personal note, I have the syndrome washing Asia, and I drink socially on occasion. I do not think I am risking my health, because his control. It can be done.
