Agra is a beautiful city, situated just few km away from Delhi, India. Noted for architectural wonders, the city also has rich history. Every year many tourists visit this wonderland for different reasons. Some visit the land for heritage, some to see the beautiful Taj Mahal and some visit Agra for being the love city. Taj Mahal

It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The title makes it a popular tourist attraction of the country. Located on the bank of Yamuna, Taj Mahal is standing gloriously under the open sky. Various factors about construction of this historical monument amaze the travellers till date. Construction of Taj Mahal took around 22 years (1631-1653). Estimated cost, which was 35 million rupees in that time, is another factor that amaze heritage lovers. This beautiful architecture is the outcome of hard work of 20000 artisans, workers and Ustad Isa Khan, who was the chief architect. It is believed that Taj Mahal was the dream of Mumtaz Mahal, wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Recognized as symbol of love, Taj Mahal still has the charm that can make anyone fall in love with the attraction.

Agra Fort

Listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Agra Fort is another amazing attraction in the city. Popularly known as 'Red Fort' in Agra is somewhat similar to Red fort in Delhi. Located at a distance of around 2 km from Taj Mahal, Agra fort is grand and tall. Founded by Akbar in 1565, the fort was a military establishment. Completed in 1571, the fort covers an area of approximate 2.5 km. Delhi Gate and Amar Singh Gate are the two main gates of the fort. Out of these, Amar Singh Gate remains open for the entry.

Attractions inside the fort include Diwan-e-Khas, Diwan-e-Am, Sheesh Mahal, Anguri Bagh, Khas Mahal, Mina Masjid, Nagina Masjid and Musamman Burj.

Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra

This is the resting place of Akbar. Started by Akbar himself, the structure took a long time in completion. Completed by Jahangir in1613, the architecture of this monument is unique. It has the five storeys and in-total building is around 100 feet high. Indo-Saracenic style of architecture draws tourists from all over the globe. Tourists can enter through Buland Darwaza.
