You may have already had some success, but more than likely gained some or all of it back. If your goal is weight loss, the fist strep to achieving your target weight or desirable body composition is to change your understanding of the word “diet”. Think in terms of modifying your nutritional intake and you will be on the way to a healthier lifestyle, without having to give up anything.

Set Realistic Goals and Hold Yourself Accountable for Each Actionr
Weight management is a lifestyle. For many of us our body composition is based on our genetic heritage. You may have bee “heavy” all of your life. When setting your goals be realistic. Set your goals in achievable stages and realize the weight you gained occurred over a fairly long period of time. Losing weight will also take a realistic amount of time.

Optimal weight management can be best achieved by following “healthful eating habits” and an active lifestyle. Now, the first thing that comes to your mind with the phrase “healthful eating habits” is carrot sticks, soy casseroles and no more tasty foods. Well, healthful eating habits do not have to tasteless and boring! Healthful eating can include your favorite foods in moderation.

Once you have programmed your goals in your head and heart, and made the commitment to achieve them, you can start using your plan immediately. When you commit to lifestyle adjustments, try to begin at a time when you are not faced with other challenges that may affect your ability to stay on your goal path.

Everyone periodically veers of their goal path for a whole host of reasons we are faced with throughout our lives. Accountability must be applied for each of your action and behavior to getting healthy and thin. Select a family member or a friend you trust and ask them to follow you on your journey and give them the authority to hold you accountable through rewards and sanctions.
