Life is a beautiful, precious gift. But so often we don’t take the time to appreciate it! When was the last time that you took the time to have fun in your life? To deliberately and intentionally savor the beauty that exists all around you?rnMost of us, if we are being honest, will admit that we don’t spend enough time enjoying life. We spend so much of our time working just to pay the bills and “keep up with the Jones’s”. When we’re not working, we’re staring down at our mobile devices or listening to the TV blaring in the background. In fact, sometimes it seems like we have constructed our entire culture with the goal of occupying and distracting ourselves from what really matters in life. Think about it for a moment -–do you spend more time texting and emailing your friends and family than you do talking to them face to face? Do you spend more time each day on your computer than you do enjoying your most treasured relationships? Now, I understand that for many of us, we don’t have complete control over how we spend our time. We have to pay the bills, after all. But here is my challenge to you: intentionally take time just to have fun! Take a look at what you are doing during the day and ask yourself how you could find more time for the people, places, and things that are most important to you. Spend more quality time with your loved ones. Take the time to listen or dance to your favorite music. Paint the picture that you’ve always wanted to create. Go for a long bike ride through the park. Curl up with a good book and just relax. Life is too short to spend it “just getting by.” Happiness really is a choice, so you might as well consciously create happiness in your life. Enjoy life to the fullest and make sure to take the time to have fun! It truly will make a world of difference! Many blessings to you!
