More people than ever are getting overweight. Studies show that not only adults have this problem, but also kids more and more are affected by this condition.
Many factors have contributed to this such as an increase in fast food joints and a rise in saturated fat in the meals, the practice of using refined sugar in drinks and other processed foods, less fiber in the eating habits of people, genetics, overeating and as people age slow metabolism.
Because there is usually a lot of work required in weight loss, and also time required. A lot of folks want to take the easy and fast way out by taking weight loss tablets.
Years ago doctors prescribed drugs for weight loss. The metabolic rate of the person was increased by increasing the serotonin levels in the brain. The result was making the brain believe the stomach was already full.
After scientists discovered that heart valve disease was the side effects of theses drugs they were taken off the shelves.
After that many new drugs were developed with modifications (most waiting FDA approval) but were still prescribed by doctors.
The notion that a simple pill can be taken and you are able to lose weight without any side effects is very temping. Since people have seen friends and family members use it and have shown tremendous improvement.
Millions of dollars every year have been spent on this one single notion. And drug companies have made a lot of money making the drug and selling it.
Purchasing Diet Pills can be done by either purchasing over the counter or by doctor prescription. With all the medical advances today, there are still many health risks to the public. Symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting, as well as urinary tract infections and tightness in the chest are still some of the problems associated with diet pills. Additionally heart attack or a stroke has been linked to these pills.
Overdosing on diet pills can cause many problems. They are confusion, tumors, hallucinations, shallow breathing, eye problems, heart attack and convulsions to mention several.
The lifestyle and health of the person may vary the side effects greatly. As long as a doctor is consulted and the correct dosage is followed, side effects can be minimized.
Withdrawal symptoms usually follow should one decide to stop using the drugs. Mood swings, hyper-activity, and pain in the stomach, insomnia and nightmares, severe irritability, extreme fatigue, depression, nausea, vomiting and trembling are some of these symptoms.
By using a low calorie diet plan and a good exercise plan, diet pills can work according to clinical tests.
One should consult a doctor before attempting any new diet or workout plan even if you decide to jog each day. Always consult a doctor before any change in you health goals.
Adding cardio and light weight training is the best plan to begin. This helps burn calories and increase the muscle to fat ratio that will increase ones metabolism and lose weight.
