Tallwoods Amongst the Eucalypts - Designed by Hurdzan

Tallwoods International Golf Resort was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, principal of the successful Hurdzan Fry design partnership. Hurdzan is a passionate course architect with a flair for extravagant design and innovative course concepts. Unlike some of his contemporaries, who have now found it advantageous to turn green and act environmental, Hurdzan has always espoused the virtues of sustainable design and he is one of the pioneers of environmental development as it relates to golf courses. This is reflected in the design of Tallwoods International Golf Resort which was designed by Dr Hurdzan. Sitting comfortably amongst the coastal eucalyptus topography of the Manning Valley in mid-coast NSW Australia, Tallwoods International Golf Resort, is a course that is both picturesque and challenging. Elevated tees (with spectacular coastal vistas), defined landing areas and tight fairways leading to large contoured greens, create a unique resort-style golfing challenge. Hurdzan has continually tried new things and pushed the innovation envelope, and inevitably a Hurdzan Fry-designed course tends to be fun and exciting to play. The Hurdzan philosophy states: “We see no reason why... if we do our design work correctly, that golfers and wildlife cannot rnco-operatively share the same space. rnMoreover, we want our golf courses to be as photographically stunning as possible. “rnThis is true of Tallwoods which is regularly used by wedding planners as a scenic site for a romantic union. The Hurdzan goal is for everyone who plays one of its golf courses to finish the round feeling spiritually satisfied, emotionally calm and physically relaxed. They state that golf should be fun no matter how well you play on any given day. They state that ‘the environment is the frame...into which they place golf courses”. Tallwoods is set amongst majestic eucalypts, with spectacular views. The community around the golf club have moved there for lifestyle reasons and golf is an integral part of their world. As is the divine beach of Blackhead Beach. In June 2011, Club Care Golf took over the management of the Resort and members have been impressed with the restoration of the landscape and greens and increased amenity for members. rnThe golf club offers the al la carte dining in the Bunker Restaurant and social events at the Sandtrap Lounge.
