Tamil Nadu best known as the’ Land of Temples’, is a home to 30,000 temples that share space with the scattered dwelling of its natives. One cannot find a hamlet, a village, a town or a city which is without a temple in Tamil Nadu. Each temple in Tamil Nadu has its own presiding deities that decipher them from other temples existing in this place. Almost all Tamilnadu temples have similar features like the gopuram or the Portal Tower from all four directions, the vimanam or the Tower over the sanctum sanctorum, spacious Halls and corridors. These temples are marvels of architectural beauty which is worth witnessing; these temples are thronged by tourists round the year.
