Do you want to teach yourself piano and work on your musical skills? Do you want to learn how to play beautiful music? If your answer is yes, then you are probably one of the millions of people who love music. Indeed, a lot of people love singing and listening to music but not all can play a musical instrument such as the piano.
If you want to be able to play the piano, it is never too late to learn the basics. Learning how to play the piano, or any other musical instrument for that matter, is a good and worthwhile hobby. In fact, it is a wonderful therapy as well and it is effective in relaxing and relieving the mind from stress.
If you want to teach yourself piano, you must start by learning the basics. First, familiarize yourself with the notes. These are the fundamentals of piano lessons – the do, re, mi, fa, sol, la and ti. You can touch these keys on the piano easily with the help of a guide.
So make sure that you have a beginner’s guide to piano lessons or anything that can help you become familiar with the piano keys and notes. Second, learn the G-clef which is usually played by your right hand and the F-clef which is usually played by your left hand.
Take note of how each note is positioned on both the G-clef and the F-clef. Any musical composition for the piano features both the G-clef and the F-clef. Third, study the different beats of each note. Each note is played differently from the others.
Example, a whole note is played longer than a half note and a half note is played longer than quarter note. Each note has a corresponding duration. It is through these note durations that a musical beat is produced.
There are many books that can help you teach yourself piano. However, you can also benefit from getting the help of someone who understands piano notes and how they are played.
If you do not know anybody, then you must do some research on how you can learn all by yourself. With a little patience and some musical inclination, and a lot of inspiration, you can teach yourself piano and come up with something simple for starters.
Do not rush because playing the piano involves a lot of musical technicalities. If you are musically inclined, you can simply familiarize yourself with the piano keys first and work from there. You can also try to learn how to play using chords.
Playing the piano requires a lot of practice in order to become better with time. You can teach yourself piano and start with simple tunes first. Later on, as your skill improves, you can work on other musical pieces.
