The discomfort in joints and muscles of the jaw may be temporary for some people, however, other warning signs may be incessant.

Indications of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) Disorder

* Pain of branching in the neck, face and shoulders
* Limitation of jaw movement or pressure points on the jaw
* Discordant painful or clicking when opening and closing the mouth
* Ear pain, dizziness, headaches, difficulty swallowing and hearing problems
* Changes in the placement of the upper and lower teeth

Classification of ATM

* Sensitivity is myofascial inflammation of the muscles of the jaw, neck and shoulders
* Jaw or dislocated disc displacement
* Debilitating joint syndrome, such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Causes of TMD

* The emotional strain or tension may lead some people to grit their teeth when they undergo emotional stress.
* Physical strain can also cause temporomandibular joint disorder. Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is more common in women than men. This is attributed to factors such as sitting for long hours, wearing high heels affect your posture.
* Other serious damage, like a punch or blow to the jaw, habitual chewing on one side of the mouth and chew gum too much can also cause TMJ.

The evaluation of the ATM

Chiropractors assess this distress by asking the patient to do the following:

* Place three fingers inside her mouth and bite them
* Open and close the mouth
* Chewing continuously, while the practitioner examines the size of the jaw joint and stability of the jaw muscles
* If you see no problem when asked to do things above, there is a probability that is not the TMJ. Therefore, an MRI must be performed to verify the forecast.

Chiropractic management of ATM

Chiropractic manipulation can take place, and using ice and heat therapy, massage and exercise set.
