The last 50 years have been very fruitful when it comes to technology inventions: From the Kodak Instamatic in 1961 to the PlayStation 4 in 2013, it has always been one exciting device after the other. But the question is: Which has influenced and changed our lives the most? Here is our top 10 in random order and you can give us your suggestions as always in the comments below. Commodore 64: Introduced in January 1982, the Commodore made 64 PCs more accessible to users worldwide and, according to many, paved the way for personal computers. With a 1MHz processor and 64K RAM, the Commodore 64 remains the best-selling computer of all time to this day. Mobile Phone: It is impressive and at the same time somewhat ridiculous how far we have come since the first mobile phone in the world. The Motorola DynaTAC 8000 was first used in 1973 by its inventor Martin Cooper and was officially launched in 1984. The DynaTAC took 10 hours to charge and you could only use it for 30 minutes afterwards. Probably the invention of the 20th century. The internet changed the way we communicate, search for information, entertain ourselves and much more. We can hardly imagine a life without proposals, right? Although the roots of the internet date back to the 60s, the general public started using it in the 90s. Atari Game console: If you were a child in the 80s, you can certainly remember that you played Space Invaders and Pong on the famous Atari Games console. If you have never heard of Atari, imagine this: Without this game console we would not have an Xbox or Wii today. iPad: In 2010, Apple provided us with a gadget that was a cross between a computer and a phone that you could use while travelling. Today, the market is flooded with tablets, especially Androids, but then the iPad was the only one of its kind and certainly a trendsetter. iPhone: In 2007, the first iPhone took the world by storm. It was the perfect combination of all modern communication and entertainment elements and both Steve Jobs and all mobile phone users worldwide knew that. Now the iPhone 1 (or original iPhone) is considered extinct in some countries and considered vintage in others. But the fact remains that it had a huge impact on all of our lives. Netscape Browser: A tool that made it possible for people all over the world to become familiar with the World Wide Web. Netscape was the dominant browser in the 90s, but in 2002 it was almost no longer used by the rise of Internet Explorer. Sony's Walkman: You had one, we had one, everyone who wanted to take his or her music with them had one. Sony's Walkman was introduced in 1979 and created such a hype that every device that looked like it was called a "walkman" from then on. Digital camera: It was Steve J. Sasson who invented the prototype of the digital camera in 1975, but the general public only got hold of these fantastic devices in the 90s, when they became compact and user-friendly enough. This invention changed the way we look at photos forever: We no longer have to wait for the film to be developed and printed, and we can now take hundreds of photos in an instant. Li-Ion Batteries: You may wonder why there are batteries on the list? They are more important than you think! Namely: With the introduction of these rechargeable batteries it became possible to use our tablets, laptops and telephones longer on a single charge.
