We use textile products is our day-to-day life like towels, cloths, garments, fashion accessories, bed sheets, curtains, carpets and other such products. Textile products have become a part of our everyday life. The trends in textile industry changed with change fashion and style. Now a day people are becoming more fashionable and adopting new styles of clothing and accessories. Business to Business indian textile industry is one of the largest foreign exchange earning sectors of the country. rnIndian textile industry is contributing 13% of the country's total export earnings. It has 4 percent contribution towards GDP. Textile industry of India is creating more employment opportunities. Recent Research has determined that Indian textile industry is providing employment to more than 35 million people. Indian textile industry is projected to reach US$ 115 billion by 2012. It is projected that India’s exports will increase from 4% to 7% after few users. Indian textile and apparel products are exported to more than 100 countries. rnGovernment is offering several schemes to improve textile exports. Some of the schemes include 100% FDI flow through the automatic route; Technology Mission on Cotton was introduced in 2000 to ensure availability of quality raw material at viable prices. Technology Up gradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) was launched to assist up gradation of the textiles industry.rnIndian textile and Apparel industry has major contribution towards development of industrial infrastructure. It is also contributing towards economic development in terms of employment opportunities for rural and uneducated people. Textile industry requires skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labor force for manufacturing products. Leather products are in more demand these days. Leather is being used to manufacture various fashion accessories like bags, footwear, cloths, etc. Textile products are classified depending upon the type of production like Animal Textiles, Plant textiles, Mineral textiles, Synthetic Textiles. Various types of raw materials used in textile industry are yarn, cotton, thread, chemicals, fabrics, etc. rnIn India many small scale and large scale enterprises are engaged in textile production. Textile manufacturing companies in India are adopting advances technologies and machineries. They are adopting new management techniques to improve the productivity of business. Exclusive textile manufacturing is practiced in Gujarat, Solapur, Haryana, Delhi, Mumbai, Madurai, Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Pune. Some small scale enterprises could not adopt advanced technologies and machineries due to limited finance. Intermediaries like dealers, agents, distributers, wholesaler, retailer, exporters, and importers play a vital role in textile industries. They act as a source or middlemen so that manufactured products reach final customer.
