Do you know why the deadly sins are known as such? Because faults can indeed be fatal, when delivered in a persistent manner. Interestingly, a parallel can be drawn between each cardinal sin and bad practices common to the blogs commenting on link building.
If you've been hoping to leave comments as a way to get extra back-links to their websites, you may want to beware of these "sins", too. Because it can only become more harmful than you ever imagined possible.
Things to avoid when establishing links through blog comments
1 - Sloth. So you're the kind of commentator who barely scratches an article? You just random grazing, just pay attention, that you are willing to leave your opinion and your damn drop link. The problem is that ... the less attention you pay to that article that is the basis for the ensuing discussion, the more likely your comment will be considered irrelevant and discarded. Sounds like a good way of doing things?
2 - Greed. Sometimes one is tempted to throw in an additional link with the current comment, right? Yes, everyone calls the time. The problem is that unless this additional link is very relevant and not selfish or be blocked by the spam filter and / or webmaster. Do not try to get more than they are naturally the right, just leave your URL in the box and write things in the "comments" field. You know ... non-HTML stuff. Like comments, in addition to human conversation among real human beings.
3 - Lust. There are times when you can not help but wonder ... "I know I should put my real name in the name field ... but what we want is to have a link to my delicious anchor text keyword. Nobody will think badly of him, right? "Wrong. Most webmasters with at least self-respect, do not hesitate to remove comments that substitution of key words and real name. Let's face it, who wants to see comments written on your website by someone who goes by the name of "premium diet kettle bell" or "management of mortgages for dummies?" I do not!
4 - Ira. If you are in agreement to build long-term relationship, you need to conserve your energy. This means that if for some reason some of your comments are approved, there is no valid logical to go back and harass the webmaster about it! Do not act in anger, as only hurt your reputation and make you lose more time ... the time you could be the intelligent use of advance and further comments, instead of obsessing over that are not approved, and how unfair you think it is.
4 - Pride. Even if you are taking the time to read the article and try to add something to the conversation, does not follow that course, all comments will be approved instantly. Ultimately, it depends on what you're trying to say with your comment, if you come across as arrogant and proud, like a kind of guru ... Many webmasters do not look too good in that. Depending on your sensitivity, the comment could be trashed. To avoid this, you have to do your best to remain civil and respectful when commenting.
6 - envy. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with the points expressed in the article you're commenting on. In fact, in fact smarter webmasters will welcome an argument and eloquent. But if you are making reasonable criticisms for the sake of it, or because he wants to be controversial ... is likely to give the impression that you are envious of the person who wrote that piece of content. In which case your comment ... quite possibly filtered, this is especially true when it says the high profile, high-authority blogs.
7 - Gluttony. As far as link building goes, the general consistency of brute force wins. It is much more effective to get 10 links every day for over a month, what is going to overbuilding irregular changes - get 150 links today, nothing more than a week, then return it and get 200 links in an outbreak. In the case of blog comments, it is always important for other reasons, too: let's face it, nobody can do a hundred comments a day and keep them significant. You must keep a rhythm for best results. Do not comment overwhelming.
Remember, every comment is not only an opportunity to re-link, is also a calling card humans pointing to your website. It is best to make your business card to convey a good impression, do not you think so? You never know who will pick up on these calling cards that you're falling through the Internet via the blog comments, so make sure each of your comments count for something.
If you feel that the exercise of their skills comments, we invite you to do it right now, join the conversation!
