There are many different industries that can take advantage of lasers in the tools that they use. The laser diode is very similar to an LED, or light emitting diode. The real difference between the two, however, is the type of light that they emit. A laser will produce what is known as coherent light or in other words, it will have a stable light. An LED, on the other hand, produces what is known as incoherent light which is more random.
