Smart phones are really changing the way that many of us access the Internet and the same is also true of the tablets that are currently available. Although it seemed as if Apple was really gaining a corner on the entire market, android has come along and in many ways, offers you things that are not available through the hyped up iPhone. Although they still are lagging behind to a certain extent, there are many reasons why you would want to consider having an android app developed over top of having one developed for the iPhone. Here are a few reasons why you would have such an app developed.

For one, you have the demographics that are available when you have any type of android application developed. Android really has permeated the entire market while those that use the iPhone tend to be those that are a little bit more loyal to Apple in many cases. Of course, I'm not saying that you should avoid having an iPhone application developed but if you really want to penetrate the market properly, you need to consider having one developed for the android.

The friendliness of the android marketplace is also something that needs to be considered. Apple tends to be rather strict about the applications that are developed and it can be rather difficult to get them into the marketplace. When you are using android, however, you simply need to develop the software and have it uploaded into the marketplace. It is going to be much easier for you to work with android and to get your application on the market quickly. With Apple, you may have difficulty getting your application up and running altogether and although it may be the perfect app in your eyes, Apple really is going to need to give their seal of approval before it is able to be downloaded.

There are many opportunities that are available to develop applications for the android market, as it is still a relatively fresh marketplace. Many of the applications that are going to be developed are going to take advantage of VoIP software technology so you need to make sure that you have the android source code in place which is going to assist you in developing the software. Once you have it developed and tested properly, you can take it live and you will typically see a flood of downloads take place almost immediately.

Of course, you're not only limited to the phone market when you're talking about android, just as you are not limited to smart phones when you're talking about developing them for Apple. The android tablets are user-friendly and they are inexpensive, two of the things that is going to help Google to overtake the marketplace with their new operating system. You make sure that you are taking advantage of this opportunity while it is still available and while it is still relatively new. Opportunities such as this don't come along every day so be sure that you are on board and ready to go with your android app.
