What Is Plantar Fasciitis?

You need to use plantar fasciitis insoles if you are suffering with plantar fasciitis. But what is plantar fasciitis? This is one of the main causes of heel pain. The plantar fascia is a muscle in the feet that connects the toe to the heel bone. The main purpose of this muscle is to support the arches of the feet. The pain is caused when you strain this ligament, and every time you walk or stand it will het swollen and inflamed. This is not exclusive to older people but can occur to younger people as well.

In this situation it becomes incumbent for the person suffering to consult with a doctor. The usual treatment for plantar fasciitis is to use plantar fasciitis insoles for the feet. But there are other types of orthotic inserts that can be used as well and other methods like acupuncture. You can choose the method that works best for you and that you are comfortable with.

But what are the situations for the plantar fascia to get stressed? The plantar fascia gets stressed when you have either flat feet or high arches. If your feet has the habit of rolling inwards more often a condition called over pronation. If you do a physical activity like walking, standing, jogging or running on hard surfaces. The other reasons are if you wear ill-fitting shoes, are over-weight or have tight calf muscles. During these situations you will stress your ligament and that warrants for the right orthotic insert.

Features Of Plantar Fasciitis Insoles

When selecting a pair of plantar fasciitis insoles for your feet there are certain features that you have to look for. For one they must provide comfort. You have to make sure that your insole is not too hard or too soft. This is because if the insole is too hard that will aggravate the situation and if the insole is too soft it will not provide the right support. The right insole must absorb shock and pressure. You have to look for insoles with tiny air pockets. These are designed in such a way to absorb the pressure and to not release it upwards to the body thereby protecting the muscles and bones from weakening. Ideally the insole must reduce pain for the person wearing it and must fit all types of shoes. This is important or you will have to buy different insoles for different shoes and familiarize your feet with them. Finally the orthotic inserts must be affordable.
