Investing wisely and prudently is of prime importance– in both Bull and Bear market an individual can make money. To gather more idea on what 'bulls' and 'bears' mean, then read this interesting article.
People dabbling in stock market on Wall Street must be familiar with bulls and bears. But for all those, who do not have much of an idea, here's an insight into animal icons that rule the stock and options trading market. Before investing, it is important to take a stock of all elements of the finance market.
Explaining the Bull Market
Bull market points to scenario where the wind seems to be in favor of the investors. A Bull market develops when:
- There is growth in economy
- Rate of unemployment is low
- Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is on the rise
- Inflation is well under control
- Stocks are rising
But a Bull market has its share of risks and can put an investor in a danger zone, if the stock becomes overvalued in the momentum of rising prices.
Explaining the Bear Market
Bear market is just the reverse of the Bull market, pointing towards:
- Downturn in economy
- Falling stock prices
- Growing inflation rate
- Monster of recession looming large on everyone's head.
But there's always a sliver lining in a dark cloud. Bear market is a passing phase and at any moment, economy can shake itself free from the declining trend. It has also been seen in the history of the stock market that a Bear market is short-lived. Bull market has generally commanded the economy, since stock prices have risen more than declining.
On Wall Street, the bulls and bears are always in a state of combat because they are direly opposite to each other. The market is volatile; hence, every investor should take extra caution in safe investments after prior consultation with trading experts and analysts. One should leverage that financial instrument, which seems profitable; either in a Bull or a Bear market, money can be made, if the choice of investment is right.
