What is a townhouse?

Townhouses form the basis of urban planning in western cities. The town house is a terraced house, that is to say that it is glued on one or more walls with the neighboring houses. It can be attached to the back wall of the plot or have a rear facade overlooking the garden or courtyard.

There are several types of townhouses:

The autonomous townhouse: it is a single-family dwelling generally consisting of two floors and built on individual land.

With the townhouse, there is much more space than in a condo, especially if it has a basement or an attic. Often equipped with a courtyard or a terrace, it allows you to enjoy private outdoor spaces.

It presents a good compromise between apartment and house

The townhouse has the advantages of a duplex but without the neighbors above. It offers greater freedom with regard to the management of the building and in particular of the works. In addition, it is a good transition for someone who has always lived in a house and looking for smaller accommodation.

The townhouse is halfway between the condo and the single-family home. More independent than an apartment in a condo and more affordable than a house, it is a delight for couples, families and even singles.
