The Different Types of Refrigerators

If you want to buy a refrigerator, what you should know first are the different types of refrigerators. Why? This is actually what will guide you into choosing the particular model of refrigerator that you will buy, no matter what brand that is. These are the basic types of refrigerators that are commonly used.
The least expensive and the most commonly used is the Top Mount Refrigerator or otherwise referred to as the Top Freezer Refrigerator. This does not require much repair, and is one of the most preferred since the freezer is located at the top part, wherein it is easy to access stored food. This too has wider shelves which allows for more food storage which is due to its configuration. For large families, and for places where a lot of food need to be stored inside, this is recommended.

Opposite the top freezer is the Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, which is also called the Bottom Mount Freezers. This is also becoming very well-known, with people referring convenient food within their easy reach when they open the fridge. For this type of refrigerator, the freezer is located at the bottom, which makes it easy for you to easily reach for bottles of water or food that you have for snacks. One drawback for this type however, is that it does not have ice and water dispensers yet.

For kitchens that do not have the luxury of space, the side by side refrigerator is recommended, since this occupies the least space. Compared with the other two that were presented above, this is more advanced having some of the latest features from manufacturers. For this type, the freezer and the refrigerator are located adjacent to each other, thus the name side by side refrigerator. The doors are narrow, which makes it suitable for limited areas because they do not need too much space when being opened. This too has water dispensers on the doors, which makes it easier to access for drinks. However, this tends to be expensive as compared to the other types.

Basing on the style of the bottom mount and the side by side refrigerator is the French door refrigerator which is getting very common too. This type of refrigerator has two doors, and the freezer is a pull out drawer. With its features, it makes up for the problems that were identified by customers with the side by side drawer. Also, the compartments are very spacious so that bigger items can be placed inside.
Built in refrigerators are for those who would like to have a stylish kitchen. These can either be bottom freezer or side by side, and are meant to add class to kitchens, since they can fit in cabinets, under the counters, and other places in the kitchen. Although these are small, they are also compact for maximum storage.
