Selling a real estate property can be overwhelming and tedious. You have to clean this and those, throw away the trash or keep the valuables, and decide whether you have to paint the walls or not. Aside from that, maintenance and repair should also be considered. And if you want to achieve the highest value for your property, home improvement can also be an answer. However, if you’re working on a limited and tight budget, a simple yet helpful home staging can be your best bet.
What is Home Staging?
Home staging is the process of arranging the furniture and appliances and adding a little extra in order to achieve a better and more organized interior. The primary goal of home staging is to make the house look pleasing and welcoming.
Home staging is not as complicated as it may sound. Actually, you can do it on your own or with the help of the members of the family. You don’t have to worry if you’re not an interior designer because even a design noob can come up with a well- staged house.
If you want to try home staging, here are the do’s and don’ts that you must keep in mind in order to come up with a well- staged property.
The Do’s for an Effective Home Staging
• Check the other properties for sale- take a good look of the properties in your neighborhood and free property listings online that are for sale.
• Make a floor plan- having a concrete and tangible plan is very vital. Before you start the process of home staging, a plan is a handy- dandy tool that will guide you all throughout the process of moving and arranging the furniture and other stuff.
• Mix and matched the furniture- the arrangement of the furniture can make or break the overall appearance of the home’s interior design. If you’re not sure where to place specific furniture, go ahead and mix it with the other. Try to be as creative as you can.
The Don’ts for an Effective Home Staging
• Go hysterical and overboard- home staging can cause you a bit stress, but you shouldn’t let it get the best of you. Avoid going beyond the plan that you make. Always remember that you should always follow the plan or blueprint that you make.
• Remove everything- an effective home staging doesn’t require you to remove all the items inside your dwelling. Once again, home staging is the strategic placement of the furniture and items to make your house look pleasant and more comfortable.
• Imitate the other well- staged houses- your house is different to the others and vice versa. In order to achieve a well- staged house, you’re not required to copy what you’ve seen in the advertisement you’ve seen in the free property listings. Let your creativity work by making the house look the way you want it to be. The advertisement that you found in the free property listings must serve as your guide and inspiration.
