A duct fan is used in combination with heating or cooling systems, the duct fan tends to propel the hot or cold air into the surroundings. This increases the effectiveness of the furnace or air conditioners by effectively increasing the number of blowers associated with the unit. Duct fans are commonly used in spaces that are difficult to heat or cool, like manufacturing spaces with high ceilings. A duct fan can also be used to maintain the temperature, rooms like where computer servers are kept to prevent them from heating.

The most commonly found use of the duct fans are in industries to keep the work environment ventilated. Cross ventilation is critical, both for the employee and the machinery to work properly specially in manufacturing industries. Certain machinery or equipments also generate heat while they are in motion, so to negate the heat to from the room temperature a panel fan can be installed to maintain the room temperature. Similarly, sometimes toxic fumes or harmful substances is generated from a few manufacturing units require panel fans or ventilating fans to remove the particles from the air.

Duct fans are often situated at the opening to the duct, where the vent opens into the room. They can also be kept at distance with each other depending on the requirement of the vicinity. This is common where are must be propelled through a very ling horizontal duct. In vertical ventilation duct, an array of duct fans is used to draw air up and out of the room below.

The rotation and the speed of these panels fans are immense and can cause substantial injuries when the blades are in motion. The speed at which these fans rotate can do fatal damage, or even can cause death. Even they are surrounded by grills and protection to protect from harm’s way.

Governmental or environmental agencies generally regulate how such substances are removed and where they go once removed from the manufacturing environment. An optimally designed fan impeller with improved aerodynamics requires less shaft input power for desired delivery of air volume with total pressure rise as per the system requirement.
