Mike's law firm was going through huge changes, because one of the paralegals had compromised all of the documentation and sent it to the wrong party. It had become a huge issue, and Mike needed to get a handle on the situation. One of the new rules was doing a managed document review per client. The review would help monitor each individual case, so that jeopardizing a client's paperwork would never happen again.

The paralegal that made the error was fired from her job. This meant his HR team was going to have to find a new hire. Normally he did not participate in this process, but due to the severity of the error he decided he would be involved.

Mike had to sit before the other partners of the law firm and explain what it happened. He tried his best to ensure that the problem would never happen again. The firm partners wanted a progress report in a month after the new hire was employed.

Once the ad was listed online, hundreds of applicants started sending the resume to Mike. The HR department was going through all of the resumes with the guidelines Mike had given them. Experience, a reputable law firm, and references were all required on the resume. Those are very important factors that Mike felt each applicant needed to have.

Reviewing the resumes that the HR department gave Mike, he decided on the top 15 candidates that looked as though they would be perfect to work with. Mike took the time to call all of the references to make sure that each of the applicants were what they listed on the resume. Mike was shocked to find out that some of the references were not accurate. Therefore his list of 15 people became only three.

Three extremely qualified applicants came in. Of the three applicants there was one lady that stood out. Not only did she have amazing qualifications, but she was also extremely pleasant. Mike stepped out to discuss his decision to hire her with the HR team. The HR team was very excited, and thought she would be a wonderful addition to the firm.

Mike's choice in a new paralegal proved to be very rewarding for the firm. She worked well with the other ladies, and all of the partners in a law firm thought she did exceptional work. It was a huge relief having a competent paralegal working for him again.

Mike implemented several different new policies over the course of the next month. The number one policy, the managed document review policy ended up working very well for not only the firm but for all of his clients.
