Shimla is an enchanting hill station located in the western part of Himalayas and is a famous tourist spot in the Himalayan region of India. Glittering snow embraced in cool atmosphere makes the hill station admiring. Wonderful view of hill station grabs the eyes of visitors and is marked as a favorite destination for nature lovers and photographers. Shimla experiences freezing winters and pleasant summers, therefore the best time to visit this spectacular hill station could be the summer as well as winter months.

There are also several places to see around Shimla. You can see Rampur, Charabra, Mashobra, Bihargaon village, Kufri, Narkanda, Chail, Sarahan, Naldehra and Tattapani during your holiday in Shimla.

The festivals which are celebrated here every year of June are folk dance, Mushaira, Red Cross fair, golf and flower show.

The Mall is the main shopping centre of this beautiful town. It also has many restaurants, clubs, banks, bars, Post Offices and tourist offices. The Gaiety Theatre is also situated there. People walk up and down the Mall slowly, stopping to gossip, as it is the main meeting place for everyone. The Ridge and Scandal point are the two main meeting points at the Mall.

To reach here one can opt betwee
Air, Rail or Road. Nearest airport is located at Jubbarhatti which is 23 Km from the town. Through train one has board into narrow gauge line from Kalka leaving broad gauge. Through toy train one has to cover 96 Km from Kalka to Shimla. Well connected and well maintained road will take hardly three and half hour from Chandigarh which is 117 Km from this place.

The salubrious climate, easy accessibility and numerous attractions of Shimla have made it one of the most popular hill stations in northern India. The splendid views of the show-clad ranges of the Himalayas, fine walks through oak and flowering rhododendron, enchanting resorts within easy reach, golf Naldehra and skiing at Kufri and Narkanda make Shimala an attractive destination throughout the year.
