The Exciting Offerings of Costa Calida

One of Spain’s famous coastlines is Costa Calida besides Costa del Sol. Costa Calida has many exciting offerings that draw large crowds during the summer. Its pleasant climate throughout the year gives Mazarron Bay the favorable “microclimate” of enjoying over 300 sunshine days in the year.

The town at Costa Calida is simple with some well preserved buildings like the prominent Town Hall, Velez Castle ruins and some churches.

Picturesque

The Mazarron Bay at Costa Calida offers a most picturesque coastline where one can reach the quaint little town of Aguilas which was once an ancient Roman fishing port. The places that are worth visiting here include Plaza España, village gardens, San Jose church, the ornate Town Hall, the 1579 castle and the old harbor.

Murcia as Costa Calida’s capital is also pretty with a lot of history. A plethora of historic monuments can be found here; well preserved city walls, churches and mosques are among some interesting ancient monuments. The city Cathedral is its pride and joy with a 1388 foundation laid by the reverend Bishop Pedrosa. This cathedral took four centuries before it opened its gates; hence, one can definitely spot the various styles and cultures at its 23 chapels.

There would be lots of social interaction between the locals and the tourists during these hours where live entertainment is available with music, dancing, food and free flow of cold beer to quench one’s thirst.
