Of course, this is not some ordinary campaign that you can just set up and hope things will go all right. You need to take some concrete steps in order to ensure the success of your campaign. The works of Henri Fayol can also serve as a guide for your IT lead generation campaign:

  1. Crafting – when you, say, conduct an IT appointment setting campaign, you have to craft a clear plan of what you want to achieve. Be clear on your goals, what you are going to do, and when are you going to do it, as well as identify the key players of your business. This is the first step before you start with your campaign. That is why you have to think things through, and not just slapping this part here and this part there in terms of planning your campaign.
  2. Coordinating – this is where you bring everything you need together, and putting them into motion. You arrange for equipment, the tools, as well as the facilities that you might need for the campaign. Of course, this will take minimal effort if you are just going to outsource the work.
  3. Casting – your job here is to fill the positions you have with the people that you will need for the job. This is where you place people on their jobs, tell them what to do, as well as ensure that they are all doing their respective tasks. In case some leave, or are no longer needed, it is also your job to find those whom you will need for the campaign.
  4. Commanding – basically speaking, this is where you take the lead. You have to manage your team every day, so that they will be able to constantly deliver the results that you will need. Sure, that will take a lot of time and effort, but it is all right. In this way, you can generate the sales leads that you will need. What matters is that you lead your team right.
  5. Controlling – at this juncture, you will have to learn to manage the intricacies of your campaign, form getting your people to succeed in generating IT leads, to meeting with the prospects that are interested in your business. Quality control is paramount in this, since deviations in your campaign can affect your overall performance.

There is also another point that you should consider, and that is budget. You need to be sure that you have the sufficient finance to keep your business going. And yes, that will be the toughest job to do. But if you know where to get it, and you know how to manage it, then your IT leads generation campaign will succeed.
