For example, the “death” card, typically known as a terrifying card for those not familiar with tarot, is now represented by the Japanese Goddess Ukemochi. Ukemochi’s myth states that after her death, she becomes a source of food for starving humanity, representing true transformation, which is the traditional meaning of the death card.
