The Good Life: I Sure Wish I Felt Better!
It’s difficult to feel good about your life when you don’t feel great physically.
What follows is a daily program for balancing your meridians and maintaining emotional health. I’ve encapsulated material from Dr. John Diamond, Gwenn Bonnell, and Gary Craig (founder of the Emotional Freedom Technique), as well as the great Emile Coue’ who is best known for the phrase, “Day by day, in every way, I’m getting better and better.”
Let’s begin with Gary Craig’s Emotional Freedom Technique. The steps are easy and you begin them after asking yourself, “On a scale of 1-10, how distressing is this to me,” or “how painful,” or “how disturbing?” Let’s say you get an 8. We’ll go from there, our primary goal being to reduce your “subjective units of distress” from an 8 to a 0.nn#1 The Setup (repeat 3 times): Say, “Even though I have this______________(problem), I deeply and completely accept myself,” while rubbing the neurolymphatic sore spot on your chest or tapping the side of either hand (Karate Chop point). Let’s say your setup statement is, “Even though I’m furious about my receding gums, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.” Tap, while saying this, on the chest sore spot or side of your hand.nn#2 Shorten now the setup statement to “anger about receding gums,” and while saying this, tap 5 times each on your inner eyebrow, side of eye, under your eye, under your nose, on your chin, under your arm, gamut point — directly behind and between the last two finders on the back side of either hand, and the top of your head.
If some anger still remains — let’s say you’re at a 2 now — then say “remaining anger” and tap five times on each of the locations mentioned in #2.
Let’s say you go through the sequence and you’re at a 1. Say, “anger that’s left” or “anger that hasn’t let go yet” or “Even though I still have some of this problem, I love and appreciate myself,” (said three times with the tapping mentioned in #1), and then go through the tapping sequence in #2 again.nn#3 Often we find that subsequent rounds of tapping bring to light another aspect of the problem and now you’re feeling sad. Go back to step one and proceed through steps one and two, using “Even though I feel sad about my receding gums, I deeply and completely accept myself,” as your setup statement — which you will shorten for step two.
That’s an overview of how EFT works. For the specifics and a free manual you can download go to Gary Craig’s site emofree.com
Earlier in this book I mentioned Dr. John Diamond’s daily affirmation program for raising your life energy. Now let’s combine his affirmations and tapping to create a much more robust way of raising your core vibration or life energy.
TAP ON the following, at least 3 to 5 times, while SAYING THE FOLLOWING AFFIRMATIONS: In parentheses I have included the body organ being affected by your tapping/affirmation statement. Also, take a deep breath after you say each affirmation while you tap on the indicated Meridian point.
You may also add, as a prelude, “Right now I deeply and completely accept myself and…” before each affirmation for increased effectiveness. For example: “Right now I deeply and completely accept myself and I am in harmony. I am at peace.”
Using your own name in place of I results, on deeper levels of testing, a greater increase of life energy. For example: “Right now James deeply and completely accepts himself and James is in harmony. James is at peace.” For Emile Coue’s statement: “Right now James deeply and completely accepts himself AND every day, in every way, James is getting better and better.” Or, “Every day, in every way, James IS better and better.” Use whatever phrasing makes you feel the best.

17. CLOSE WITH: “My Life Energy is high. I am in the state of love.”
In an article “Boost Your Metabolism,” Gwenn Bonnell suggests the following approach to powering up your body metabolism. She says to rate your metabolism on a scale from 0 to 100. “Zero reflects no energy at all, and 100 reflects that our metabolism is running at 100%.” Simply ask yourself on a scale of “all my circuits are firing” to feeling “under par,” “Where would I rate how I’m feeling right now on a scale of 0 to 100?” Don’t judge the number you intuit, merely look on it as a starting point for EFT (which I’ll explain next how to use for this specific process).
While tapping the side of your hand or rubbing the sore spot on your chest (the neurolymphatic point) which is near your shoulder blade), Bonnel says to vocalize: “Even though my body is running at only XX percent, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and my body” as your SETUP statement. Say it at least three times or more while tapping or rubbing your sore spot.
Once you’ve done that, create a REMINDER PHRASE like “Running at XX percent,” and go through the tapping procedure mentioned in point #2 above where I showed you how to use EFT.
Now, do another around of tapping on the side of your hand (the Karate Chop Point) or rubbing the sore spot on your chest while saying: “Even though my metabolism is still running under 100%, I release anything and everything that slows down my body, and I deeply and completely love myself and accept my body.” This is a new SETUP STATEMENT.
As your REMINDER PHRASE (a shorter phrase than your setup statement) for tapping the points on your body, beginning with the corner of your eyebrow located near your nose, say the following: “Release anything that slows me down.”
Now you’re going to do a third round of tapping. This time, while tapping the side of your hand or rubbing the sore spot on your chest, use a SETUP PHRASE like this one: “Even though my metabolism is not used to running at 100% all the time, I now repair everything that slows my body down as I deeply and completely love and accept myself and my body.”
For your body tapping sequence, use this REMINDER PHRASE: “Repair anything that slows my body down.”
Now take a new reading of your metabolism ranging from 0-100 and see if you feel a positive effect. You are likely to because your metabolism has probably risen 20 to 30 points by now. As Bonnell says, “Excellent results for a few minutes of tapping!” In other words, you’ll probably have more energy and motivation to do the things you want. Bonnell points out that “we did NOT tap for our metabolism increasing to 100%. It’s undoubtedly best to let your body, with its own innate intelligence, increase your metabolism at a healthy rate.” She suggests doing this metabolism booster three times daily.
