The Hidden Attack on Your Manhood

Getting Back Your “Male Mojo”
After they reach a certain age, most men I know begin to worry about their masculinity. It may be thinning hair… an expanding waistline… or a little less action in the bedroom. They just don’t feel they’re “as much of a man” as they used to be.
Many of my patients don’t realize there’s more than age at work here. You see, your masculinity is under attack from the outside, too.
Chemicals called “xenoestrogens” act like estrogen in your body. And one of these chemicals – bisphenol A (BPA) – is practically everywhere. Manufacturers put between 8 and 9 billion pounds of it in products every year.
You may already know that men need the “female” hormone estrogen. But we normally have it in much smaller amounts than women. Too much estrogen has a feminizing effect on men… and may promote everything from weight gain to reproductive problems.
Today, I’ll show you some of the surprising places BPA hides. And how to avoid it.
Probably the best-known source of BPA is drinking water. Most bottled water comes in plastic containers made with BPA. Some of that BPA leaches out into the water – and then into your body.
Avoiding bottled water is your best bet. Fill a stainless steel bottle at home and carry it with you. (Aluminum bottles are often lined with an epoxy resin that – you guessed it – contains BPA.)
If you can’t avoid bottled water, keep it cool. As the plastic warms, it releases more BPA into the water.
Another bottled product to watch out for is wine. But it’s not the bottles that are a problem. Before it’s bottled, wine spends time in large storage vats. Many of those vats are coated with an epoxy resin that contains BPA. And tests have found BPA in wine.1
The European Food Safety Authority reports that most European Union wineries use unlined stainless steel vats. If you have a favorite winery, it’s worth asking how their wine is stored.
Water and wine are bad enough. But there’s BPA in your food, too.
Grocery stores’ inner aisles harbor the processed foods. And many of those foods are packaged in materials that contai
BPA.
Epoxy resins line the insides of most food cans – including sodas and energy drinks. BPA may also leach into your food from plastic shrink-wrap. And don’t bet glass jars are safe, either. The lids are often lined with plastic containing BPA.
I often urge my patients to shop from the outside aisles of their grocery store. That’s where the fresh produce, meats, eggs and other minimally processed foods are.
You’ll find BPA in other items in your local market, too. Plastic plates, bowls and spoons… microwave cookware… even napkins and toilet paper.
On your way out of the store, you may get a final shot of BPA from the cash register receipt. Many stores print their receipts on thermal paper, which contains BPA.2 it’s not a heavy dose, but it all adds up.
Nobody knows just how much BPA may be getting into your body. But one study shows that government estimates are probably far too low.
Researchers fed a huge dose of BPA to a group of rhesus monkeys, because their bodies handle BPA the way human bodies do. The dose was 400 times more than the government says you take into your body every day.
Over the next 24 hours, the monkeys’ blood levels of BPA never reached the average level found in people in the U.S.3 In other words, you’re probably getting a lot more BPA than the government says you are.
That’s why it’s important to avoid the feminizing influence BPA whenever you can.
Stay Healthy,
Dr Kenneth Woliner, M.D.

Moving Meditation: How Precision-Based Exercise Supports Mental and Emotional Growth
Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. For many, this is why exercise has always been more than fitness; itâs therapy through motion. But not all movement heals. Some styles exhaust, others distract. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThatâs where precision-based training, such as re
