Soon after the First World War, in early 1920, the Dassler family council decided to organize a family business - sewing shoes under the Dassler brand. The first products of the Dassler family were home slippers and orthopedic shoes for training athletes with disabilities (which were many after the war). The material they used was a written-off military uniform, and the soles were carved out of old automobile tires. In 1924, the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory was founded. Two brothers with opposite characters complemented each other - Adolf is a calm and balanced producer, while Rudolph is an active and communicative seller. A year later, Adolf invented and sewed the world's first football boots with thorns, which the brothers Tselein forged the blacksmiths. The football model was comfortable and, together with gymnastic slippers, became the main product of the Dassler. At the summer Olympic Games in 1928, several athletes competed in Dassler shoes. After the death of their father in 1948, the brothers quarreled and, dividing the factories, founded new firms Adidas and Puma. After the collapse of the family business, the brothers did not talk to each other, and Puma and Adidas became the most fierce competitors. The Dassler families were managed for a long time. Today it is no longer a family business. Adidas and Puma are now joint-stock companies, they are still competing in the market, but only the memories remain of the previous passions. Olympic records have been set in clothes and shoes from these brands, world championships are won. And those who nowadays buy the goods of well-known brands (with Adidas and Puma logo) often do not even suspect the legends and realities in the history of their success, the passions unfolding around these names, hatred and enmity.
