Have you ever wished for a lean, masculine body? Well, this is a fantasy that most men have. Unfortunately, not all men have their bodies' produce the right amount of the required hormones. These hormones include glucagon, insulin, cortisol, Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 abbreviated as (IGF-1) and testosterone. Some men are born with sufficient production of these hormones in their right amount while others are not as lucky. Regardless of the number of hormones necessary for muscle development in the body, people go to the gym to add on muscles, maintain body shape and weight, and to reduce weight. The purpose of visiting the gym determines if one needs to excite or minimize the production of certain hormones in their bodies. Bodybuilders will need to have their testosterone level increased and pray for insulin to align with their goals.

Hormones Responsible for Muscle Development

This is to say; testosterone hormone is the essential hormone for muscle growth. Insulin works in one's favor or against as it can either promote muscle development or increase storage of fat in the body. Cortisol is a type of metabolic hormone commonly released by the body when you are experiencing physical and mental stress. rnGlucagon, on the other hand, will raise your blood sugar level when it is low. Additionally, glucagon also stimulates your muscle break-down and fat burning. IGF-1 plays a vital role in childhood development and encourages muscle development among adults. Those who find these hormones not giving them the result they expect over a certain period, opt to use steroids and bodybuilding supplements.

Using Steroids

Performance-enhancing drugs have risks to your health. You should study the best cutting cycle, health dangers and other unknown effects regarding doping or the performance-enhancing drugs like anabolic steroids, human growth hormone, diuretics, stimulants and many more. Sometimes you may decide it's not worth taking risks over the benefits

What are Anabolic Steroids?

Other athletes go for a steroid drug commonly known as anabolic-androgenic steroids to add their muscles and strength. Your body only produces natural steroid testosterone which naturally promotes muscle building. Testosterone also has androgenic effects on your body such as facial hair growth and a deep voice.

Use of Anabolic Steroids

Some athletes decide to improve their muscle growth by using anabolic steroids to enhance their performance. These performance enhancing drugs used by athletes are usually synthetic alterations of testosterone. Unfortunately, steroids can help improve certain medical conditions but are not fit for athletes. rnYour muscles may be bigger, but anabolic steroids reduce the muscle loss which occurs during an extensive workout, helping athletes recuperate quickly, and to work out harder and more frequently. Both athletes and non-athletes may love the muscular growth appearance they see on their bodies upon taking the drugs.

Conclusion

When you overuse a performance-enhancing drug thinking it’s the best cutting cycle for muscle growth, then it may lead to addiction. You may feel as if you can't function normally without the drugs running in your system. Steroid addiction causes excessive hormonal growth in the body, which can cause severe side effects like blood pressure, heart attack, and other health conditions.
