Spanish clinicians worked with overweight and obese women over a period of one year. The volunteers were divided in two groups. Members of the first group focused on exercise, healthy nutrition and stress management. The weight loss programme that the second group participated in took in consideration factors like emotional eating, body image, overcoming personal barriers and the main reasons for people to stray from a healthy diet plan. The researchers found out that the women who focused on improved self-image were more capable of self-regulating eating. These women lost an average of seven per cent of their body weight in comparison to only two per cent for the control group. Positive Body Image: How? According to a study published in American Health Magazine, hypnosis produced 93 per cent better results than other methods for improving body image. How does it happen?
