Why visual content is so important.

Blog articles are the milk and honey of your content marketing strategy. And while your words are responsible for building the narrative, visual elements play a huge role in making articles the compelling and engaging content your audience is eager to see.

It’s a hard truth, but I know that no matter how incredible my writing is, the only person who’s likely to read every word is my friend.

In the age of shrinking attention spans, we have to make the type of content that’s easily digestible and understandable. Visuals and infographics help break up the text and highlight important takeaways so readers can scan through content and still get the message you want to send.

A lot of this comes down to how our brains work. Most of the people are visual learners, and many of us find it easier to comprehend and retain information when it’s presented visually.

Infographics

When your blog articles cover complicated processes or highlight important statistics, infographics are the supreme data visualizations to embed within the article.

Plus, making an infographic means you can own an original content/visual that your readers won’t have seen and won't see it anywhere else. These original graphics are known to have the highest levels of performance and engagement on your site.

But stop, there’s always more: You can also crop the only parts of the infographic for the most important visual content that’s perfect for promoting your blog post via social media posts. If you want to go the extra miles, you can even create animated or interactive infographics in case you have experience in making infographics, to boost user engagement.

Visuals get more eyeballs

More than 150 million hours of video is viewed daily on social media while 20 billion videos are watched every day on the internet. Let’s shorten the long story, so much visual content is being consumed online these days. It has become the norm. If you don’t stick and follow up to people’s expectations, your content will just get ignored and scrolled.

Moreover, visuals with multiple colors ( multiple means 3-4 not rainbows ) increases people’s willingness to read a piece of content by 80%.

The human brain is the most efficient when dealing with visuals. Visuals are processed 66,000 times faster than text.

In content marketing, on average, a conversion happens after eight or more brand interactions. This number can go up or down depending on the interaction.

Videos as Visuals

Study found out that 55 percent of the people are interested to see video content from marketers. You don’t want to disappoint your followers down, do you? Video is among the most entertaining forms of visual content, and it has a reputation for boosting your blog performance.

As with any other visual, original video content is your right choice. However, embedding relevant videos published by other companies won’t anybody either.

Let's get started and make visuals!

Now that we’ve established how well visuals and infographics work together, make room for visual content creation in your editorial calendar. Not only will your blog posts look way better, but your audience will begin to see your brand as a consistent source of highly entertaining and reputable content.
