Web 2.0 in a nutshell is what your social media is today. We have instant messaging, voice chat, social networks, blogs, and photo jou
als to keep us virtually connected. And in a generation where Facebook defines our relationships, the art of advertising has made an abrupt shift to the internet. In a survey conducted in 2010, the numbers have shown us that most if not all companies have increased budget to allotting more marketing strategies via the web. What does this mean for online marketing?

1. Leads, leads, leads. This year it’s all about creativity and the ability to step out of our telephone sales lead box and adopt a more organic strategy to gaining leads. Imagine what a few clicks could do for you through an ad on Facebook, a tweet, or a video on YouTube. Advertising your business through social media is one of the fastest ways to gain online sales leads today.

2. Organic listings. The best part about Google’s new search tool is the real time results. Now, twitter ads can attract the market that you need, regardless of whether or not they are on twitter themselves. And when a product is good and your customers are happy, everybody starts to talk, thus increasing your organic listings.

3. Better Customer Relations. Now companies are providing customer care through available chat and voice internet services. Customers no longer need to spend on an overseas number, and can access the help that they need as soon as they need it. Web 2.0 is changing the way we relate, and if we have begun amongst our friends and family, then we may as well be adding our customers into our social networks of care.

Web marketing has changed the way advertising has come into our lives. No longer do we rely on impersonal highway ads. We can now go directly to the market we wish to target and appear on the pages they search.
