The Look of Your Packaging Design is Vital
- Make sure that it is bright and bold to catch the eye of everyone who glances at it as they are passing by the store shelves. This clever marketing ploy will entice people to buy it.
- Also, make sure that it has images that correspond to the message or words that are used on the package. Make sure that both the words and pictures compliment each other. It is important that it is attractive all the way around.
- You must decide whether this package will be hung or placed on a shelf and you must make the package design according to that. Those that are to be hung will need a top flap that has a hole in it. The ones that are going to be displayed on a shelf, should have a steady base. Believe it or not, in our practice, we've seen packages that were tilting on a side when the product was placed inside.
- Another thing to take into consideration is the size of the package. Make sure that it is big enough to fit your product and make sure that it is not oversized either.
- Your brand name or logo must be displayed in a proper place on the package. Of course, this is also relative to your other marketable products. Make sure that product information is also included on the back. Remember that the way the package is designed is important, as this will be the first expression that the consumer will see.
- The message that the package contains is vital to whether or not your product will be bought by consumers. A package design will make or break your marketing campaign. It has to stand out over the other brands and send subliminal messages to the consumers to choose your brand over your competitors.
- Make sure that the package design is clear and concise. This means that you should not have a package that is full of clutter. Colors play an important part of a package design as well as the font size. Choose colors that blend with the overall package and flow together nicely for easy recognition.
- The shape of the package is also important. Many companies are now getting their packaging custom designed so that it is not just a square box. Some product packages are custom cut into many different shapes.
