“Very true, although sometimes I wonder why I bother, given that I’ve worked my balls off for a lot of these splinter bandwagons jumpers, for free, for years. Nothing is going to get achieved on facebook, and in 4 years it has proved it. Facebook is a place for showing off in front of your friends (and with a lot of people, also a lot of people they don’t even know personally), and that sadly is it. When something will get achieved is when the “serious” amongst us “pull together” towards “the one common aim”. And that is when they will gel together and actually achieve something credible. The government relies on our division and competition. Our all pulling in different directions. Whatever way you look at it, that is why successive governments have profited from selling off all our military hospitals. It is why our taxpayers are shortly going to have to pay “more tax” to rent back our NHS hospitals and our schools. It is why 380 odd are dead in Afghanistan. It is why charity is paying for what certainly Thatcher's government and before used to provide for our military as course of their duties. It is this divide in those that “profess” to support our soliders, is hypocritically proven in the course of my life of the last three years doing much charity work, I have daily witnessed some fighting and squabbling with each other, with nothing anywhere near as constructive or productive getting actually done. It is counter productivity at its best, and it needs to be stopped and people gel together. FFS there are 10 million military veterans in the UK alone, and joined together with public and media support (as it should be) – we can take on and beat any government. We can dictate to government, and any successive government exactly what we want for the duty, operations and care of our servicemen/women and our veterans. Veterans shouldn’t be denied access to housing or homeless, or benefits just because they are single men and in a bad time. It is our bloody country and we need to reclaim it. Some of us are trying to change this divided methodogy and kick the government where it hurts – in stopping their corruption and pocket lining – The Oath of Allegiance organisation, or "The OOA" for short - http://oathofallegiance.org/ Who knows? Maybe we can with everyones help find every serviceman/woman past and present, and get them to sign up and become a member, pull together on the same tug-o-war rope, and change something? Maybe we cannot? At least some of us can say “we tried our best!” But we sure won’t be laughed at by critical and hypocritical idiots that have sat back and done nothing! It’s a new version (2 days in beta) of the OOA website and there’s not a lot on there as yet – but it’s a forces only social network far more powerful than facebook with regards interaction and the functionality required for doing what we hope to achieve. We just need the people who count all on there – vets, serving, families, friends, supporters and charities. Without people becoming a member and inviting all their relevant friends across, they’ll just sit on facebook advertising all their gripes at the big brother government on here. Who in turn will continue to laugh at their bitching dividedness, and cut forces, sell off more of Britain, and line their pockets further!”
