After a long day at work, sometimes you feel like your head is exploding. However, most of the times we just take a pill and lie down, hoping that the pain will go away and that we can carry on with our daily schedule. The problem is that these headaches tend to come back, torturing us every other day. As we have busy days ahead of us, we just take the pill that calms the pain and that is it. Nevertheless, you should think about different factors such as what is a migraine and what causes migraines. If you allow time to pass by and you do not do some research regarding the reason your head is hurting this way, you might find yourself getting more severe headaches. Pain is not something that you can just forget about, especially if we are talking about a severe one. When your head hurts, you have to ask yourself if it is just your regular headache or you are experiencing a migraine. When you think about what is a migraine, you imagine a very strong headache, which is actually true. However, if you do not know whether you are suffering from a simple headache or a migraine, then you should know that the severity of the pain will leave you without a doubt. A regular headache can be treated with a nap or a pill. Right after that you can carry on with your day. But, when it comes to what is a migraine, the pain that you will be feeling at the level of one side of the hide will be unbearable. You might not know this if you have not experienced one of these severe headaches, but a migraine can torture you for up to three whole days. Not only this, but you will feel like the pain is getting worse every time you hear noise or are exposed to light. When it comes to what causes migraines, there are several things that we should try to minimise or get out of our lives completely. One of the answers to what causes migraines is the thing that we have to live with daily - stress. The problem with stress is the fact that it makes us get tense and our blood vessels from our head and back are experiencing a change in size. As they expand, certain chemicals get released into our blood and the migraine starts. There are other things that we need to avoid such as unhealthy food or even starving ourselves. When you have a busy day ahead of you, sometimes you forget that there should be a meal in between tasks and you just carry on with your work. Skipping a meal is not a healthy option and it could be one of the things that answers the question regarding what causes migraines.
