Have you ever wondered what your life purpose is? I think just about everyone would answer yes to this and I was certainly no different. There came a challenging time in my life when I felt desperate to have an answer. One day, several years ago, I found myself at the edge of the water of the bay near our house to contemplate this. I believed in a higher power whom, at that time, I called Great Spirit. It was a private spot behind some trees so I asked Great Spirit to speak to me directly and tell me what my purpose was. I pleaded - no one but me would hear the answer and it was okay to speak freely. Many minutes went by and nothing happened. I became frustrated and felt more desperate. I was determined not to leave that spot until I received an answer. I let myself relax and get into a meditative state. After a few more minutes I heard the word "Teach". The voice did not come from the sky as I had hoped but from inside my head. I heard "Teach" very clearly. My initial excitement turned again to frustration. Teach what? I felt I didn't know enough about anything to teach anyone. I asked Great Spirit to clarify. Several more minutes and nothing came to me. Then, just to the right of where I sat, something caught my eye. There was writing in the sand. I walked over to read it. It was a heart with a couple's initials written inside of it. I was only briefly disappointed that Great Spirit hadn't written it but was very clear on the message. Love. Then I put it together. Teach...Love. Teach Love. I felt a rush of satisfaction. I felt I had received an answer. I didn't know what it meant exactly, but I felt a peace that at least I had some direction. I walked home the same way I had come and found these words written in the concrete: Love is a small word, it's the person that makes it big. Wow - that was powerful! I hadn't seen it before. It was a confirmation to me that my purpose was to teach love. Since then, I have come to realize that teaching love is the purpose of every soul, through example and inspiration. Love is Spirit, and Spirit is the self. When you are in alignment with Spirit, you are love. This is the foundation of your growth and expansion. With this awareness, comes a life of freedom and joy. All you have to do is follow your heart and be true to yourself! By being who you really are, you are "teaching" love to those who flow through your life. The Beatles got it right when they sang "All You Need is Love". Love is all you need. Being in the state of love means being the state of complete alignment with the Vibration of the Source within you. When you are in the state of love, there is no active Vibration of resistance within you. ~Abraham-Hicks
