Having experienced fibroids and healed my body of them a long time ago it is easy for me to forget that there are many women being diagnosed with fibroids who have never heard of them before. There are also many more who are unaware that they have them. With such a huge percentage of women experiencing them at some stage in their lives it would seem bizarre that still so many women know nothing about them. So why is this?

The answer lies in the nature of them. They hit at the very heart of a womans femininity and are the kind of topic that just does not come up for discussion. They seem to be classed in almost the same old fashioned category of womens troubles that menopause or similar issues used to be. Today most womens magazines cover the topic of menopause in a very down to earth every day manner. You can buy supplements, special creams, cosmetic ranges and even sexual aids in most pharmacies now for this stage in a womans life. With such a big step forward I am amazed that we do not see more being made available for those with fibroids. Whilst medical treatment advances for fibroids have been considerable they still do not treat the root cause of fibroids or even attempt to get to the bottom of why some women have them. The number of women experiencing them seems to be on the increase as does the number of women having a hysterectomy to eradicate them. A drastic measure by any ones standards.

It is important for anyone who believes they may have fibroids to consult with a doctor and preferably a specialist to discuss treatment options, after that they need to look outside the medical profession for answers as to why they have them in the first place. To be fair doctors and consultants rarely have the time or the skills to take a woman through the process needed to ascertain the reason she has them, let alone get involved in the way she can heal them naturally. Although many now understand the importance of the mind body link as science continues to prove the value of approaches that utilise it.

I urge anyone facing this health issue to do some research of their own and take an active role in their treatment plan. Surgery and drugs are not your only options. At the very least there are basic dietary changes that will make a difference in the reduction of symptoms.
