It firstly prevents ovulation from occurring by tricking your body into believing that ovulation has already occurred. Secondly, Yasmin pills thicken the cervical mucus in your womb so as to prevent sperm from entering and fertilising an egg. And lastly, this pill alters the womb lining so as to prevent an egg from attaching and growing further.

Cilest

The other popular combined pill used by women is Cilest. This pill has been proven to be almost 100% effective in preventing unplanned pregnancy. It consists of ethinylestradiol, synthetic oestrogen and norgestimate, synthetic progestogen as its active ingredients. You are required to take this pill for 21 days of your 28 day menstrual cycle. Then you are to keep a break of seven days before starting a new pack. You are most likely to have a withdrawal bleed during these seven days.

Dianette

Dianette is also a popular combined pill used by women. This pill consists of ethinylestradiol, synthetic oestrogen and cyproterone acetate, synthetic progestogen as its active ingredients. This pill has been proven to be almost 100% effective in preventing women from having an unplanned pregnancy. This pill has also been proven to be effective in treating acne in women. Dianette also helps in treating hirsutism, excessive facial hair growth. You are required to take this pill for 21 days of your 28 day menstrual cycle and take a break of seven days before starting a new pack.
