It is the biggest city of South Africa. it lies in the eastern Cape province. The nick name of Port Elizabeth is also known as the windy city and the friendly city. It is very beautiful city. The Port Elizabeth harbor and waterfront were upgraded for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It is expected to opponent the popular Cape Town waterfront. The city was one of the sites for World Cup games, and many more visitors came here. When the FIFA World Cup was expected airport was also upgraded to provide a tourists great facilities. The city centers were also upgraded to promote the tourism.Port Elizabeth is popular for the motor vehicle industry. There are many assembly plants in Port Elizabeth. The industries which have their plants are Volkswagen, General Motors, Ford, and Continental Tyres and other motor companies. Most other industries are worked for the motor vehicle industry, providing parts such as wiring harnesses, catalytic converters, batteries and tyres to the different vehicle manufacturers.
Port Elizabeth is also a main harbor, with the most important ore loading amenities and services in the southern hemisphere.As fraction of the continuing development, a new Industrial Development Zone with prolonged port services is being built at Coega. The city is in the development of building a bus fast transport system which was planned for the 2010 FIFA world cup. This has been not completed and suspended due to unprofessional conduct which leads to the project missing and its completion date was May 2010 but it did not completed. Port Elizabeth railway station is controlled by South Africa's rail network. Metrorail operates the local traveler services; Shosholoza Meyl controls the services for longdistance passenger. Himerail station was upgraded in 2010 for the prepration of FIFA world Cup. Apple express tourist train is for the many places where tourists usually want to go. Port Elizabeth Airport serves the city for passengers and cargo interchange. It is the fourth busiest airport of South Africa following Johannesburg International Airport, Durban International Airport and Cape Town International Airport.
The international visitors first come to Durban or Johannesburg and then take the domestic flight for Port Elizabeth. An improved and upgraded terminal building is completed in 2004 which has essential facilities to handle international flights but still international flights are not started.The aviation sector is fine represented in Port Elizabeth, with various services on field able to offer aircraft charter and hire, management, maintenance and training on commercial levels. Port Elizabeth is the place where best flight school of Africa is located. In Coega the new international harbor was created. Port Elizabeth has a famour harbor in Agloa Bay. It is expected that new international harbor will increase the size of industries and can add many industries to the city. The Port Elizabeth has very beautiful weather and the rainfall is mostly throughout the year. The rainfall is not very heavy its light rain. Winters are cool but gentle and summers are very hot. The weather is great in Port Elizabeth.
